3rd Chelsea player suffers injury during the International break after Morata and Cahill

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi will miss Belgium’s upcoming friendlies due to a foot injury. Roberto Martinez’s side are set to face Mexico on Friday evening before taking on Japan next Tuesday.
But Batshuayi will play no part in either match as he was carrying an injury when he linked up with the Belgium squad earlier this week. Batshuayi has now returned to Chelsea where he will be assessed by the club’s medical staff.
When Michy arrived he was in pain,’ Martinez told RTBF.
‘He has not trained since the squad met.
‘He is out both games and has already returned to Chelsea.’
Batshuayi has made 12 appearances in all competitions for Antonio Conte’s side this season and has scored seven goals.
After Morata’s toe injury and Gary Cahill injuring himself in England training, Michy becomes the third Blue to suffer some form of set back. Hopefully, nothing too serious for all 3 of them!
Danny Drinkwater England snub: Chelsea ace has made biggest mistake of his career – Sutton
DANNY DRINKWATER has made the biggest mistake of his career by snubbing England.
That is the view of pundit and former Chelsea star Chris Sutton.
Drinkwater has played just 103 minutes of football this season due a calf injury he had while at Leicester.
But the midfielder has rejected Gareth Southgate’s England call-up for this week’s friendlies, claiming he is not fit enough to play.
There is now a growing feeling within the England camp that Drinkwater isn’t committed enough to the Three Lions and may miss out on next year’s World Cup.
And Sutton, who turned down Glenn Hoddle’s call-up for the England B team in 1998, says Drinkwater will massively regret his decision.
“Danny Drinkwater has made the biggest mistake of his career in snubbing Gareth Southgate,” he told the Daily Mail.
“Telling Glenn Hoddle that I would not play in an England B fixture in 1998 was the worst decision I ever made. At the age of 24, my international career was over.
“Now, Drinkwater’s chances of playing at the World Cup are surely over and future England managers, never mind Southgate, will not want to touch him.”
Sutton believes Drinkwater’s lack of game-time at Stamford Bridge is the exact reason he should be jumping at the chance to link up with the England squad for the two matches.
“On a purely practical level, it would have made sense for Drinkwater to join up with England,” he continued.
“Given he has had little game-time for Chelsea, these games would have been a perfect opportunity for him to get minutes under his belt.
There is stiff competition in midfield at Chelsea, but had Drinkwater shone against quality opposition, Germany on Friday night and Brazil on Tuesday, he could have forced his way into Antonio Conte’s thinking.”
England take on Germany this evening (8pm).
