Alvaro Morata says he’d like Chelsea to sign Real Madrid star
Alvaro Morata has picked out Real Madrid playmaker Isco as the one player from his old club that he would love to play alongside at Chelsea.
The forward left the Bernabeu for Stamford Bridge over the summer, though has linked up with a number of his old teammates while on international duty with Spain.
And he is delighted to have been reunited with Isco, who he believes has emerged as one of the most important players at Real and would be a massive asset at Chelsea.
‘I would take [Isco] to Chelsea now when I return [from the Spanish camp],’ Morata told Cadena Ser.
‘But I think that right now he has one of the most important roles at Madrid. In the national team he is also key.
‘I think he is unstoppable when he feels important. The whole world has seen it since he took the reins at Madrid.
‘He is the most important player at Real Madrid and in the national team. He changes the games, he makes the difference. He dances with the ball. Furthermore, he is my friend.’
Isco looked to be on his way out at Real Madrid barely a year ago, often playing second fiddle to the club’s bigger Galacticos.
But he was given an extended run in the side by Zinedine Zidane in the second half of last season, playing a crucial role in their Champions League win before signing a new contract at Real with a £600m release clause.
