EKITI ELECTION RIGGING: New Revelations Emerge [MUST READ]

The commander of the 32nd Artillery Brigade Brigadier General A.A. Momoh, summoned a Board of Inquiry to investigate Captain Sagir Koli, the informer who revealed the alleged 2014 plan by which the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rigged the Ekiti gubernatorial poll.

The information comes in new documents which were leaked to Sahara Reporters.

Captain Koli personally recorded a meeting between military officials and politicians on June 20 in Akure to discuss the implementation of the alleged plot, which supposedly returned Governor Ayodele Fayose to power.

General Momoh was the senior military officer who supposedly acted on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff in the rigging plot.

It was claimed that two of the politicians involved were acting on behalf of President Goodluck Jonathan.

According to the leaked documents General Momoh summoned the board “to investigate the circumstance that led Capt. SI Koli (N/12074) to abscond from his place of duty on 1 Aug 14 and still remain absent while deployed for security duty during the 2014 Osun State Gubernatorial Election.”

General Momoh said the inquiry run by Colonel D. Akama would sit at a date and time “to be determined by the president,” but it is not understood whether that referred to President Jonathan.

The board called nine witnesses, including three from Captain Koli’s troop, the 32nd Artillery Brigade. Reproductions of the answers and opinions were not part of the new documents, but were to be submitted on August 14, 2014.

It is also alleged that Brig. General Momoh, at about the time that he summoned the Board of Inquiry, also approved the illegal kidnapping and torture of Capt. Koli’s 15-year-old younger brother, Adamu Koli.

Capt Koli told journalists that Brig General Momoh’s approved the kidnapping and torture of the teenage Adamu was to lure him out of hiding. The captain has been in hiding since he first leaked the audio-tape.

Capt Koli, as one of the assistants to Brig General Momoh, escorted the general to the meeting, during which he said the politicians intimidated him and gave him orders. They allegedly promised him a huge money payment and a promotion if he successfully rigged the election. Among other things, he was said to have been ordered to detain members of the opposition party, as well as award privileges to members of the PDP involved in the rigging plot.

The audio-tape supposedly revealed that prominent PDP politician Musiliu Obanikoro was commanded to join the meeting on special assignment by President Jonathan, who wanted to make sure that the Ekiti contest finished in a PDP victory. It also allegedly disclosed, and other statements by Capt Koli confirmed, that the Ekiti poll was to be the plan for electoral manipulation in the Osun State gubernatorial election that was to follow in 2014, and later for the 2015 general elections.
The audio-recording allegedly revealed that significant officials of the ruling party had planned to rig the 2014 Ekiti governorship election alongside army officials.

Those supposedly caught on the recording were Musiliu Obanikoro, a former Defence Minister, and Ayo Fayose, who defeated the incumbent governor.
