David Luiz and Kenedy did something that frustrated Antonio Conte before being dropped vs Man United
Antonio Conte – surprisingly – picked Andreas Christensen over David Luiz in the heart of defence in the 1-0 win against Manchester United on Sunday.
The 21-year-old produced another impressive performance alongside Gary Cahill, limitting the space for Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku.
However, it was still a big surprise how Conte dropped Luiz, who sat along with Kenedy in the bench.
It was a big call from the Italian manager, who risked being sacked if he had lost the match, according to The Times.
The Telegraph are reporting now that Conte’s decisions were influenced by the 3-0 defeat to Roma in midweek.
It is said that the former Juventus coach first had a few words with the defender after he reacted with anger to being substituted in the 3-3 with Roma a fortnight ago.
And Luiz’s terrible performance in the scond fixture proved the final straw.
On the other hand, Kenedy yawned while Conte was speaking to his players after the loss to Roma, and that could cost him with the end of his career at Chelsea.
